READ MOREYancheng Longwan Machinery Co., Ltd. is a foundry producing Grey Cast Iron Valve Accessories manufacturer parts for valve builders, fire-protection contractors and OEM equipment programmes. We have poured castings at our Yancheng City site in Jiangsu Province since 2006, working from customer drawings or physical samples and delivering cleaned, machined and documented components ready for assembly.
Valve accessories sit between the pressure-containing body and the operating mechanism. Flake graphite grey iron gives these parts the vibration damping, thermal stability and wear behaviour the application needs, with a cost structure that suits series production. Our range covers closure and housing components such as the box cover — the closing part that shields the internal mechanism and preserves sealing performance in the closed position — together with the brackets, glands, yokes and connection pieces that complete a valve assembly.
Every valve accessory we supply is quoted against the customer's drawing, so geometry, wall section and machining allowance are set by the part itself rather than by a standard catalogue. The table below shows the component families we run most often and the casting characteristics that decide how each one is tooled.
| Component family | Function in the valve | Casting characteristics we control | Typical service |
|---|---|---|---|
| Box cover / bonnet | Closes the valve cavity and protects the internal mechanism from the external environment | Wall section uniformity, flange flatness, sealing face machining allowance, pattern draft for easy maintenance access | Fire-protection mains, water distribution |
| Body and end-connection housings | Contains the flow path and joins to pipework | Core integrity, bore concentricity, bolt-circle position, flange thickness | Water treatment, HVAC, industrial pipework |
| Gland, cover plate and packing retainers | Compress and locate the stem seal | Face flatness, bore clearance, hole and thread layout after machining | Gate and globe valve assemblies |
| Yokes, brackets and mounting feet | Carry actuator or handwheel load into the body | Rib placement, mounting face flatness, position of tapped holes | Actuated valves, remote-operated stations |
| Stem nuts, hubs and small hardware | Transmit operator or actuator torque | As-cast soundness, thread quality, hub bore and keyway handed over from turning | Manual and geared valve operators |
We pour to the grade written on the drawing, and the melting and sand practice follow the section thickness of the accessory. The variables that most often change a valve accessory configuration are:
Our foundry runs two fully automatic clay sand lines, one semi-automatic clay sand line and one coated sand line, with an annual casting capacity of 15,000 tonnes. Melting is handled by three 1.25 tonne medium-frequency electric furnaces, and three shot-blasting machines clean the output.
| Production unit | Plate / mould size | Rate | Best fit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Vertical sand-shot, horizontal parting, boxless shot-press line | 610 × 510 × 240 mm | 120 boxes/hour | Volume production of small valve accessories |
| Upper/lower sand-shot, horizontal parting, boxless shot-press line | 750 × 650 × 250 mm | 100 boxes/hour | Small and medium accessories, cored bodies |
| Lost foam line (in planning) | 100 kg – 1000 kg casting range | Project dependent | Large single-piece housings |
Three CNC lathes and three lathes handle turned features — sealing face preparation, bores, stem threads and hub fits — so a valve accessory can leave us as a finished machined part rather than an as-cast blank. Shot blasting removes sand and scale before inspection.
An automatic spray painting line and an electrophoretic coating line are being planned alongside the casting expansion, extending the finishing scope for valve accessories that need corrosion protection and a consistent colour finish.
Our works operate to the IATF 16949:2016 system standard, with inspection scheduled at each process step and a full inspection of finished parts against customer requirements before shipment. Material performance testing covers a German SPECTRO direct-reading spectrometer, tensile testing machine, 3 t Brinell hardness tester, sonic velocity meter and metallographic microscope; non-destructive checks use magnetic particle and ultrasonic flaw detection.
Sand control runs on dedicated equipment — SAC hammer-type sample maker, SWY hydraulic strength tester, SSZ vibration sand screener and SGS double-disc infrared dryer — which keeps mould strength and moisture stable across a production run. Acceptance for valve accessories is normally agreed as a combination of grade certificate, hardness, dimensional report on the datums, and a visual or NDT check on sealing and mounting faces.
We build a valve accessory quotation from the working point and the drawing, not from a generic price list. The inputs that determine tooling, process route and unit cost are:
The parent flake graphite range: automotive, agricultural, reducer, water pump, semiconductor and robot accessories poured on the same lines.
Nodular iron equivalents for valve accessories that must absorb impact or pressure surge rather than rely on damping alone.
Fittings and fire-protection pipe components that pair with valve accessories in water mains and riser assemblies.
We produce valve accessories to customer drawings, including box covers and bonnets, body and end-connection housings, glands and cover plates, yokes and mounting brackets, and small turned hardware such as stem nuts and hubs. There is no fixed standard catalogue — each part is tooled from the drawing or sample supplied.
Chemistry is checked on the German SPECTRO direct-reading spectrometer, and mechanical results come from the tensile testing machine, 3 t Brinell hardness tester and sonic velocity meter, with metallographic examination where the drawing calls for a microstructure requirement. Our works run to the IATF 16949:2016 system standard, and inspection records are issued with the shipment.
The 610 × 510 × 240 mm vertical shot-press line runs small valve accessories at 120 boxes per hour, and the 750 × 650 × 250 mm line handles small and medium parts at 100 boxes per hour. A lost foam line for 100 kg to 1000 kg castings is in planning for larger housings.
Yes. The ODM/OEM route runs through drawing confirmation and quotation, pattern manufacture, sample castings for approval, then series production with in-process and final inspection before shipment. Our R&D engineers run process simulation before tooling is cut, which shortens development time and lowers the scrap rate on new parts.
Three CNC lathes and three lathes are available for turned features such as sealing faces, bores and threads, and three shot-blasting machines clean the castings after fettling. An automatic spray painting line and an electrophoretic coating line are being added to extend corrosion protection and colour finishing.
Packaging is agreed per order, including palletised or binned arrangements for machined parts, and custom packaging design can be provided. Shipments normally move by sea, with air freight available for urgent quantities through Ningbo Airport and Shanghai International Airport, both close to our plant.
