READ MOREYancheng Longwan Machinery Co., Ltd. is a ductile iron foundry and machining plant in Yancheng, Jiangsu, producing Ductile Cast Iron Water Pump Accessories manufacturer supply for pump builders, water utilities, irrigation equipment makers and industrial plants. We cast and finish impellers, volutes, casings, bearing housings, seal components, connection flanges and pump bases to customer drawings or samples, in prototype, trial and repeat production quantities.
Founded in 2006, the works covers 33,300 m² with more than 120 employees, including 10 technicians and 5 engineers. Ductile iron is melted in three 1.25 T medium-frequency electric furnaces and poured on automated clay sand and coated sand molding lines, with machining carried out on CNC lathes and lathes in the same plant. Our quality system follows IATF 16949:2016.
The accessory range follows the working point of the pump: pressure containment, shaft location, sealing interface and mounting geometry. Each part is quoted from the drawing, with the molding line chosen to suit its geometry and annual volume. Parts within our Ductile Cast Iron range are supplied as-cast, shot blasted or fully machined, depending on the interface the part has to meet.
| Component | Function in the pump | Casting and machining notes | Typical service |
|---|---|---|---|
| Impeller | Imparts kinetic energy to the fluid and sets head and flow. | Cast vane profile; hub, eye and shroud faces machined for fit and balance. | Municipal supply, irrigation, fire pumps. |
| Volute and casing | Collects flow and converts velocity into pressure. | Wall thickness controlled for pressure load; nozzle and mounting faces machined. | Water treatment, process water, industrial pumping. |
| Bearing housing | Locates the shaft and carries bearing loads. | Bore concentricity and foot flatness held; bores turned on CNC lathes. | Continuous-duty and packaged pump sets. |
| Seal cover and gland | Contains the shaft sealing interface. | Bore and face tolerances machined; flatness verified before assembly. | Process, chemical and industrial duty. |
| Pump base and bedplate | Aligns pump and driver on a common frame. | Pad flatness, hole pattern and overall geometry cast close to final shape. | Skid-mounted and packaged units. |
| Adapter and connection flange | Joins casing to piping or motor support. | Bolt circle, face and drilling machined to drawing. | Municipal and irrigation installations. |
Where a project uses both pump and valve castings, our Ductile Cast Iron Valve Accessories are produced under the same melting, molding and inspection flow, which keeps material and dimensional consistency across a skid or packaged set.
Municipal water systems move large volumes through pumps that run for long periods, so impellers, housings, bearing locations and seal covers must resist dynamic stress and the chemistry of the water being pumped. Irrigation duty adds abrasion, humidity, frost and fertilizer or pesticide exposure, which places more demand on corrosion performance and external finish. Industrial pumping — water treatment, petrochemical, power generation and metallurgy — brings higher temperatures, pressures and aggressive media, where the toughness of ductile iron against impact and thermal load is a practical advantage.
Fire-fighting pumps add short-duration high-pressure and high-temperature conditions to the same component set. For these duties the casting must hold pressure integrity and keep the impeller, volute and bearing housing aligned after repeated starts. Our grey iron range covers applications where lower strength is acceptable and vibration damping or machinability is the priority; Grey Cast Iron Water Pump Accessories remain available as a parallel material option where the pump duty permits it.
Grade selection follows the drawing and the failure mode the part has to resist. A ferritic ductile iron suits components needing elongation and impact resistance at lower temperatures; a pearlitic grade is chosen where hardness, strength and wear resistance dominate, such as wear rings or shaft-contact areas. Nodularity, matrix and chemistry are controlled at the furnace rather than corrected after casting.
For pump casings and volutes, section thickness and feeding are reviewed against the pressure class and machining allowance so that shrinkage-prone areas are not left in the final wall.
The molding asset is matched to the part size, geometry and annual volume at the quotation stage. Small accessories and high-run parts go onto the faster boxless line; housings and volutes with cores and larger footprints run on the 750 × 650 × 250 mm line.
| Molding asset | Flask / mould size | Rate | Best fit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Vertical sand-shot horizontal parting boxless line | 610 × 510 × 240 mm | 120 boxes/hour | High-volume small accessories: impellers, seal covers, small connection flanges. |
| Upper/lower sand-shot horizontal parting boxless line | 750 × 650 × 250 mm | 100 boxes/hour | Small and medium housings, volutes, bearing housings. |
| Clay sand lines — 2 automatic, 1 semi-automatic | Project dependent | Repeat production | Stable output across the accessory range. |
| Coated sand line | Project dependent | Core-intensive parts | Internal passages and surfaces needing better definition. |
Combined annual casting capacity is 15,000 tonnes, supported by three cleaning shot blasting machines, three CNC lathes and three lathes for finishing.
Patterns and core boxes are produced after drawing confirmation, and a sample casting is submitted for approval before mass production begins. This sequence keeps the tooling decision tied to the actual pump interface rather than to a nominal shape.
Inspection runs through the process: raw materials are checked on receipt, in-process checks follow each molding, fettling and machining stage, and finished parts receive full inspection against customer requirements and international standards. The laboratory equipment confirms material properties, while magnetic particle and ultrasonic flaw detection cover specified non-destructive testing.
Reports are issued to the scope agreed at order: material certificates, hardness and tensile results, dimensional records, NDT reports and sample approval documentation. Our IATF 16949:2016 system standard governs traceability and continuous quality stability through the production flow.
We prepare the casting process, machining scope and quotation from the project data below. Where a drawing is not yet available, a sample with measurable wear limits is enough to start the pattern review.
| Project input | What we need |
|---|---|
| Drawing or sample | 2D/3D drawing with revision status, or a physical sample with critical dimensions identified. |
| Material grade | Ductile iron grade, required tensile and elongation, hardness range, microstructure or nodularity requirement. |
| Pump duty | Fluid, temperature, pressure class, flow and head, continuous or intermittent operation. |
| Interfaces | Flange standard, bolt circle, bore and seal fits, mounting footprint, shaft centre height. |
| Machining scope | As-cast, partially or fully machined; datums, tolerances, GD&T callouts and balance requirement. |
| Testing and records | Chemical, mechanical, hardness, dimensional or NDT reports; sample approval requirements. |
| Volume and schedule | Prototype, trial batch, annual volume, release pattern and delivery destination. |
| Packaging and marking | Returnable or export packing, pallet configuration, part identification and documentation language. |
We manufacture to customer drawings or samples rather than from a standard catalogue. The pattern, core box and machining fixtures are developed for the specific impeller, casing, housing or base being supplied.
We pour to the grade and property callout on the drawing. Chemistry is verified on the SPECTRO spectrometer before pouring, and tensile, Brinell hardness, metallographic and sonic velocity checks confirm the supplied material. Grade confirmation forms part of the quotation.
After drawing confirmation we produce the pattern and submit sample castings for your approval. Mass production starts only after the sample has been confirmed, and the approved sample becomes the reference for later inspection.
Annual casting capacity is 15,000 tonnes, using two fully automatic clay sand lines, one semi-automatic clay sand line and one coated sand line, with boxless molding lines at 610 × 510 × 240 mm and 750 × 650 × 250 mm. Three 1.25 T furnaces, three shot blasting machines, three CNC lathes and three lathes support the casting and finishing flow.
Finished parts receive full inspection against customer requirements and international standards before packing. Documentation follows the agreed scope and can include material certificates, tensile and hardness results, dimensional records, and magnetic particle or ultrasonic testing reports where specified.
Our castings are exported to Germany, Japan, Italy, South Korea and Australia, among other markets. Pump accessories normally ship by sea, with air freight available through Ningbo and Shanghai airports when a delivery is urgent.
